EIROforum creates a Working Group on Diversity and Inclusiveness

06 Feb 2018 -- Ioanna Koutava

In November 2017, the eight EIROforum organisations established an ad hoc Working Group focusing on Diversity and Inclusiveness matters. This is the outcome of a proposal brought forward by CERN and ESO in May 2017.

The aim of the Working Group is to establish a platform between research performing organisations sharing similar issues in similar contexts: to exchange best practices and benefits from training on D&I matters; to share resources such as events or material and to promote STEM to under-represented groups.

The Working Group already held its first meeting in September, and has regular exchanges for sharing knowledge and practice on various diversity topics. As an example, representatives of the European Space Agency (ESA) and Institut Max von Laue - Paul Langevin (ILL) participated in a workshop on inclusive language organised by CERN Translation, Minutes and Council support Group.
